A portion of the purchase price has been donated to the Trees-4-Trees foundation to fund replacement trees used in the manufacture. Each item sold has a unique World Identification Number (WIN) fixed to it which verifies the manufacturers donation as well as a geo-location of the replacement trees funded. Trees-4-Trees is a non-profit foundation established by responsible timber product manufacturers to empower local communities through partnership reforestation initiatives and related education programs. The foundation distributes free seedlings of high value species to local farmers and resident land owners. The program provides technical guidance on planting and best forestry practices in addition to long term monitoring to help the tree recipients maximize value. The foundation also sponsors outreach educational programs in local communities and schools to raise awareness of the environmental and economic benefits of growing healthy trees. By increasing the area of community planted and owned forests, the livelihoods of the people are improved and the environment is renewed.
